This was unexpected.
If history tells us anything it's that Attack of the Team starts the season slowly and usually without a win. The 2019 edition came out of the gate flying putting up some goals early and hanging on until all three periods were over. Coming into this one completely cold against a team that plays year round, this W definitely adds a few bonus points to the teams confidence and title aspirations.
Paul Kosciuch made an impact all over the score sheet finding the back of the net, a few minutes in the penalty box and sneaking his way into the 1st Star ceremonial photograph. Zack Cvetkovski, Mark Kealey, Taylor Ison and Brandon Smith all added to the scoreboard to help secure the 5-3 win.
Bill Lyden was stellar in his Attack debut. His stats line would have looked better if not for the late penalties but coming in cold to play a team like the Schwas didn't phase him one bit. Don't be surprised if you see another appearance from this netminder over the course of the season.
Next up the Attack take on the Richmond Hill Riot who are coming off their own season-opening win over Team Sleazy.

Barber missed his first season-opening game ever and clearly wasn't missed
